Xapavir LT Tablet should be taken at the same time every day, with or without food, to get the most benefit. Your doctor will decide the correct dose based on your medical condition and will monitor how well your treatment is working. You should take it exactly as your doctor has advised, and swallow the tablet whole with water without breaking, crushing, or chewing it.
This medicine does not cure HIV infection, but it reduces the amount of virus in the body and helps improve immune function by increasing CD4 cell counts. Do not stop taking this medicine or run out of your supply without first talking to your doctor, as this can lead to the virus becoming resistant to treatment.
Nausea and headache are among the most common effects of this medicine. Your doctor will test you for hepatitis B infection before starting treatment, as stopping this medicine can cause a serious flare-up of hepatitis B in co-infected patients. Inform your doctor immediately if you notice a rash, fever, blistering or peeling skin, or swelling of the face, lips, or tongue, as these could indicate a serious allergic reaction.
