Description
Introduction Of Sprycel 100mg Tablet:
Sprycel 100mg Tablet is an anticancer medicine used in the treatment of Philadelphia chromosome-positive chronic myeloid leukemia (CML), a type of blood cancer. It is also used in certain patients with Philadelphia chromosome-positive acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) who have not responded to, or cannot tolerate, other treatments. Its active ingredient is dasatinib. It belongs to a group of medicines called kinase inhibitors.
Sprycel 100mg Tablet can be taken with or without food. Swallow the tablet whole with water. Do not crush, cut, or chew it. Take it once a day at the same time every day to get the most benefit. Your doctor will decide the dose, and it may be changed during treatment depending on your response and any side effects. Take it exactly as your doctor has advised, and do not stop taking it unless your doctor tells you to. Avoid grapefruit and grapefruit juice during treatment. Tell your doctor about all the medicines you take, especially antacids and acid-reducing medicines, as they can reduce how well this medicine is absorbed.
Fluid build-up around the lungs or in the body, headache, diarrhea, and a fall in blood cell counts are among the most common side effects of this medicine. Regular blood tests are required during treatment. Inform your doctor if you have heart, lung, or liver problems, or a bleeding disorder. Inform your doctor immediately if you experience shortness of breath, chest pain, a fast or irregular heartbeat, swelling in the legs or face, unusual bleeding or bruising, fever or signs of infection, or fainting.
Uses Of Sprycel 100mg Tablet:
- Philadelphia chromosome-positive chronic myeloid leukemia (CML)
- Philadelphia chromosome-positive acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) in patients who have not responded to, or cannot tolerate, earlier treatment
Benefits Of Sprycel 100mg Tablet:
1. Chronic myeloid leukemia
Chronic myeloid leukemia is a cancer of the blood-forming cells in the bone marrow, caused by an abnormal protein called BCR-ABL. This protein tells the cells to grow without control. Sprycel 100mg Tablet blocks this protein, which slows the growth of the leukemia cells and helps bring blood counts back toward normal.
2. When other medicines stop working
Sprycel 100mg Tablet is effective in many patients whose leukemia has become resistant to imatinib, or who cannot take imatinib because of side effects, which gives these patients another treatment option.
3. Acute lymphoblastic leukemia
In patients with Philadelphia chromosome-positive ALL, Sprycel 100mg Tablet helps control the growth of the abnormal white blood cells when earlier treatments have not worked.
4. Once-daily oral treatment
Sprycel 100mg Tablet is taken by mouth once a day at home, which makes the treatment simple to follow.
