Pacshil 260mg Injection is an anticancer medicine used to treat breast cancer, non-small cell lung cancer, and pancreatic cancer. It works by disrupting the microtubule structures that cancer cells need to divide and multiply, thereby slowing their growth and causing cell death. This injection is administered by a qualified healthcare professional, with the dosage determined according to the patient’s condition and response to treatment. Pacshil may be used alone or in combination with other chemotherapy medicines to improve treatment outcomes and control cancer progression.

Description

Introduction Of Pacshil 260mg Injection:

Pacshil 260mg Injection is an anticancer medicine that contains Paclitaxel, a taxane-group chemotherapy drug. It is used, alone or together with other medicines, to treat ovarian cancer, breast cancer, and non-small cell lung cancer. Each vial contains Paclitaxel 260 mg in 43.4 mL of concentrate, and it is for intravenous (I.V.) infusion only.

Pacshil 260mg Injection is diluted and given as a slow infusion into a vein by a doctor or trained nurse, in a hospital or cancer care centre. It is not for self-injection. It is usually given once every 3 weeks, and for some cancers together with a platinum medicine such as cisplatin or carboplatin. Your oncologist will calculate the dose from your height and weight and will decide the number of cycles. Before each dose, you will be given steroid and antihistamine medicines to lower the risk of an allergic reaction, and your blood counts will be checked.

Hair loss, tingling or numbness in the hands and feet, muscle and joint pain, and low blood counts are among the more common effects of this medicine. The injection contains alcohol and a castor oil-based solvent, so tell your doctor if you have liver problems, an alcohol problem, or an allergy to castor oil. Tell your doctor about all your medicines, and inform them immediately if you notice fever, chills, unusual bleeding, breathlessness, or flushing and itching during the infusion.

Uses Of Pacshil 260mg Injection:

  • Ovarian cancer
  • Breast cancer
  • Non-small cell lung cancer

Benefits Of Pacshil 260mg Injection:

1. Ovarian cancer

Ovarian cancer often has no obvious symptoms until it has spread within the abdomen. Paclitaxel, usually combined with a platinum drug, is one of the standard chemotherapy options. It helps to kill cancer cells, reduce the size of the tumour, and delay the return of the disease.

2. Breast cancer

In breast cancer, this injection is used after other treatments or in combination regimens. It helps to destroy cancer cells and lowers the chance of the cancer spreading or coming back.

3. Non-small cell lung cancer

For advanced non-small cell lung cancer, paclitaxel is given with a platinum medicine such as cisplatin. This combination helps to slow the growth of the tumour and ease symptoms in patients who cannot have surgery or radiation alone.

Side Effects Of Pacshil 260mg Injection:

Many side effects can be managed with the help of your treatment team. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you are worried about them.

Common side effects of Paclitaxel:

  • Hair loss
  • Tingling, numbness, or burning in the hands and feet
  • Muscle and joint pain
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Mouth sores
  • Low white cells, red cells, and platelets
  • Tiredness or weakness
  • Flushing or skin rash
  • Pain or redness at the injection site

Mechanism Of Action Of Pacshil 260mg Injection:

Pacshil 260mg Injection is an anticancer drug. It works by impeding the microtubule structures which help the cancer cells to separate and increase. This eases back the development of cancer cells and at last kills them.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Pacshil 260mg Injection used for?
Pacshil 260mg (Paclitaxel) is an anti-cancer medicine used to treat breast cancer, non-small cell lung cancer, and pancreatic cancer, either alone or combined with other chemotherapy medicines.
Paclitaxel can cause severe allergic reactions, sometimes fatal, so your doctor will typically give you corticosteroids and antihistamines before each dose to help prevent this. It can also cause a serious drop in white blood cell count, increasing infection risk — regular blood tests are required before and during treatment.
It works by disrupting microtubule structures that cancer cells need to divide and multiply. This slows the growth of cancer cells and eventually causes them to die.
It is given as an infusion into a vein by a doctor or nurse in a medical facility. Your doctor will determine the schedule and dose based on your condition and how your body responds to treatment.
Call your doctor right away if you develop a fever over 100.4°F (38°C), sore throat, cough, chills, or painful urination, as these could be signs of infection related to low white blood cell counts.
Each vial contains 260mg of Paclitaxel, manufactured by Shilpa Medicare Ltd, supplied as a vial. This is a prescription-only medication.
