Description
Introduction Of Enhertu 100mg Injection:
Enhertu 100mg Injection is a targeted anti-cancer medicine (antibody-drug conjugate) used in the treatment of HER2-positive and HER2-low breast cancer, HER2-positive stomach (gastric) or gastroesophageal junction cancer, and non-small cell lung cancer with HER2 mutations.
Enhertu 100mg Injection is given as an intravenous infusion by a qualified healthcare professional after the powder is prepared as a solution and diluted. It should not be self-administered. Your doctor will decide the dose based on your body weight and medical condition, and it is usually given once every 3 weeks. The infusion is given slowly, and you will be watched for infusion reactions such as fever and chills. Women who can become pregnant should use effective contraception during treatment, as this medicine can harm an unborn baby. It may take several weeks for you to see or feel the benefits, but do not stop the treatment unless your doctor tells you to.
Nausea, tiredness, vomiting, and hair loss are among the most common effects of this medicine. This medicine can lower your blood cell counts and, in some people, cause serious lung inflammation. Your doctor will check your blood counts and heart function regularly and will watch for lung problems. Inform your doctor immediately if you notice a new or worsening cough, breathlessness, fever, chest pain, or swelling of the legs. These need urgent attention.
Uses Of Enhertu 100mg Injection:
- HER2-positive breast cancer
- HER2-low breast cancer
- HER2-positive stomach (gastric) or gastroesophageal junction cancer
- Non-small cell lung cancer with HER2 mutation
Benefits Of Enhertu 100mg Injection:
1. HER2-positive and HER2-low breast cancer
Breast cancer occurs when abnormal cells grow uncontrollably in breast tissue. Some breast cancers make too much of a protein called HER2, which drives their growth. Enhertu 100mg Injection is used when the cancer has spread or cannot be removed by surgery. It finds HER2 on cancer cells and delivers a chemotherapy drug directly into them, helping slow the growth and spread of the disease.
2. Stomach cancer and non-small cell lung cancer
Enhertu 100mg Injection is also used in HER2-positive stomach or gastroesophageal junction cancer that has already been treated with earlier therapy, and in lung cancer with HER2 mutations. It targets the cancer cells directly, helping control tumour growth and delay disease progression.

Mechanism Of Action Of Enhertu 100mg Injection:
Enhertu Injection contains Trastuzumab Deruxtecan, an antibody-drug conjugate (ADC). It joins a HER2-targeting antibody (trastuzumab) to a chemotherapy drug called deruxtecan, which is a topoisomerase I inhibitor. The antibody attaches to HER2 on the surface of cancer cells and carries the drug inside them. Once inside, the drug is released and damages the DNA of the cancer cell, which leads to its death. This is how it helps control the growth and spread of cancer.
