Description
Introduction Of Abamune-L Tablet :
Abamune-L Tablet contain a fixed-dose combination of Abacavir 600 mg and Lamivudine 300 mg. Both medicines are nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NRTIs) used together with other antiretroviral medicines for the treatment of HIV-1 infection. The combination helps reduce the amount of HIV in the blood and supports immune-system function.
Abamune-L Tablet is manufactured by Cipla Ltd. and is supplied as an oral tablet. The product shown contains 30 tablets and is intended for prescription use.
Uses Of Abamune-L Tablet :
Abamune-L Tablets are used as part of combination antiretroviral therapy for:
- Treatment of HIV-1 infection.
- Reducing HIV viral load in the blood.
- Supporting improvement or maintenance of immune-system function.
- Reducing the risk of HIV-related illnesses and complications when used consistently as part of an appropriate treatment regimen.
Abamune-L does not cure HIV and should be taken continuously according to the treatment plan prescribed by a healthcare professional. Missing doses or stopping treatment without medical advice can increase the risk of treatment failure and drug resistance.
Benefits Of Abamune-L Tablet :
- Helps reduce HIV viral load: Abacavir and lamivudine interfere with HIV replication, helping reduce the amount of virus in the blood.
- Supports immune function: Effective antiretroviral treatment helps the immune system function more effectively.
- Combination therapy in one tablet: Provides two antiretroviral medicines in a single tablet, which can simplify the treatment regimen.
- Helps reduce HIV-related complications: Maintaining viral suppression can reduce the risk of HIV-associated illnesses when treatment is taken consistently.
Mechanism Of Action Of Abamune-L Tablet :
Abamune-L Tablet contains two nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NRTIs).
Abacavir: Abacavir is converted inside cells to its active form, which inhibits HIV reverse transcriptase. This interferes with the formation of viral DNA and prevents HIV from multiplying effectively.
Lamivudine: Lamivudine is also converted to an active intracellular form that inhibits HIV reverse transcriptase and interferes with viral DNA synthesis.
By combining these two mechanisms, Abamune-L helps suppress HIV replication and reduce the amount of HIV in the blood. It does not eliminate HIV from the body and is therefore used as part of a complete antiretroviral treatment regimen.
