Description
Introduction Of Enfiera 500mg Injection:
Enfiera 500mg Injection is a monoclonal antibody medicine used in the treatment of non-Hodgkin lymphoma and chronic lymphocytic leukaemia. It is also used to treat rheumatoid arthritis (along with methotrexate), granulomatosis with polyangiitis, microscopic polyangiitis, and pemphigus vulgaris.
Enfiera 500mg Injection is given as an intravenous infusion by a trained healthcare professional after dilution. It should not be self-administered. Your doctor will decide the dose and treatment schedule based on your medical condition. The first infusion is given slowly and under close supervision to watch for infusion reactions. You may be given medicines before each infusion (such as an antihistamine, paracetamol, or a steroid) to lower this risk. Women who can become pregnant should use effective contraception during treatment and for at least 12 months after the last dose. Do not stop the treatment unless your doctor tells you to.
Headache, weakness, fever, and infusion-related reactions are among the most common effects of this medicine. This medicine may lower your white blood cell count, making infections more likely. Your doctor will monitor your blood counts regularly and may test you for hepatitis B before starting treatment. Inform your doctor immediately if you notice breathing difficulty, swelling, dizziness, severe skin reactions, chest pain, or signs of infection such as fever and chills.
Uses Of Enfiera 500mg Injection:
- Non-Hodgkin lymphoma
- Chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL)
- Rheumatoid arthritis (with methotrexate)
- Granulomatosis with polyangiitis and microscopic polyangiitis
- Pemphigus vulgaris
Benefits Of Enfiera 500mg Injection:
1. Non-Hodgkin lymphoma and chronic lymphocytic leukaemia
These are cancers of the white blood cells (B cells) in which abnormal cells grow uncontrollably. Enfiera 500mg Injection attaches to a protein on the surface of these B cells and marks them for destruction by the immune system. This helps control the growth and spread of the cancer, and it is often given together with chemotherapy.
2. Rheumatoid arthritis and other autoimmune conditions
In rheumatoid arthritis and related conditions, the immune system wrongly attacks the body’s own tissues. Enfiera 500mg Injection lowers the activity of the B cells involved in this process. This helps reduce pain and inflammation, and it helps slow joint damage and disease progression over time.
Side effects of Enfiera 500mg Injection:
Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them.
Common side effects of Enfiera:
- Headache
- Weakness

- Infections (bacterial and viral)
- Decreased white blood cell count (neutropenia)

- Back pain
Mechanism Of Action Of Enfiera 500mg Injection:
Enfiera 500mg Injection contains Rituximab, a monoclonal antibody that targets a protein called CD20 found on the surface of B cells. By attaching to this protein, it helps the immune system destroy these cells. In blood cancers, this removes the cancerous B cells. In autoimmune conditions, it lowers the unwanted immune activity that causes inflammation and tissue damage.
