Description
Introduction Of Opdivo 40mg Injection:
Opdivo 40mg Injection is an immunotherapy medicine (monoclonal antibody) used in the treatment of several cancers. These include melanoma (skin cancer), non-small cell lung cancer, kidney cancer, head and neck cancer, classical Hodgkin lymphoma, urothelial carcinoma, liver cancer, colorectal cancer, gastric cancer, and malignant pleural mesothelioma.
Opdivo 40mg Injection is given as an intravenous infusion by a qualified healthcare professional, under the supervision of a doctor experienced in cancer treatment. It should not be self-administered. Your doctor will decide the dose and how often you need it, based on the type of cancer being treated. This may change from time to time. It can be used alone or with other cancer medicines. It may take several weeks or months for you to see or feel the benefits, but do not stop the treatment unless your doctor tells you to. This medicine can harm an unborn baby, so women who can become pregnant should use effective contraception during treatment.
Fatigue, rash, and diarrhea are among the most common effects of this medicine. Because it works by activating the immune system, it may sometimes cause inflammation in healthy organs such as the lungs, intestines, liver, kidneys, or hormone glands. Your doctor will monitor you closely with regular tests. Inform your doctor immediately if you notice new or worsening cough, severe diarrhea, yellowing of the skin or eyes, severe rash, or unusual tiredness. These effects can appear during treatment or even months after it ends.

Benefits Of Opdivo 40mg Injection:
1. Melanoma, lung, and kidney cancer
These cancers occur when abnormal cells grow uncontrollably and can spread to other parts of the body. Cancer cells often hide from the immune system by using a protein switch called PD-1 on immune T-cells. Opdivo 40mg Injection blocks this switch, allowing the body’s own immune cells to recognise and attack the cancer cells. This helps slow the growth and spread of the disease. For melanoma, it may also be given together with ipilimumab.
2. Hodgkin lymphoma, head and neck, liver, and other cancers
In these cancers, the disease can become hard to treat after earlier therapies. Opdivo 40mg Injection helps the immune system work against the tumour, helping control the disease and improve outcomes in patients who need further treatment.
Side effects of Opdivo 40mg Injection:
Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them.

Mechanism Of Action Of Opdivo 40mg Injection:
Opdivo Injection contains Nivolumab, a monoclonal antibody and immune checkpoint inhibitor. It works by blocking a protein called PD-1 on the surface of immune cells called T-cells. Blocking this protein releases the brakes on the T-cells, so they can find and attack cancer cells. This is how it helps control the growth and spread of cancer.
