Abec L Tablet is a combination of Abacavir and Lamivudine. It is an antiviral medication used for the treatment of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection — a condition that occurs when the virus attacks the immune system and blocks your body’s ability to fight infections or illnesses.
Abec L Tablet will not cure HIV infection, but it will delay the progression of a chronic, potentially dangerous condition known as AIDS (acquired immunodeficiency syndrome) and other HIV-related conditions. This medication works by preventing the virus from multiplying. Abec L Tablet may cause side effects like nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, diarrhea, headache, confusion, dizziness, and trouble sleeping. Consult your doctor if these bother you for a longer period or worsen. Do not take this medication if you are allergic to it.
Abec L Tablet may be taken with or without food. Take it in the dose and duration prescribed by your doctor. Do not take more than the recommended dose. Take it at the same time every day to maintain a consistent level of this medication in your blood. Do not stop this medication without consulting your doctor, as it may worsen your condition.
Abec L Tablet may not be appropriate for everyone. It is not recommended for use in children weighing under 25 kg. Inform your doctor if you have heart, liver, or kidney problems, or any other health conditions. Also inform your doctor about all of your ongoing medications to avoid unwanted interactions.
This Tablet is not considered safe for use during pregnancy. Consult your doctor if you are breastfeeding. If you have an HIV infection, breastfeeding is not recommended, as HIV may transfer to the child through breast milk.
