Description
Introduction of Gliotem 100mg Capsule:
Gliotem 100mg Capsule is a chemotherapy medicine used to treat certain brain tumors, namely glioblastoma multiforme and anaplastic astrocytoma. Its active ingredient is temozolomide.
Gliotem 100mg Capsule should be taken at the same time every day, on an empty stomach. Swallow each capsule whole with a full glass of water. Do not open, chew, or crush the capsule, and avoid skin contact with the powder inside a damaged capsule. If it touches your skin, wash the area well with soap and water. Your doctor will decide the dose and the treatment schedule based on your height, weight, and blood test results, and they may change from time to time.
Because the capsules come in different strengths, your dose may be made up of more than one strength, so check the label each time. Your doctor may also prescribe a medicine to prevent nausea and vomiting. Do not stop taking it unless your doctor tells you to. Avoid alcohol and drink plenty of water during treatment.
Nausea, vomiting, tiredness, headache, and constipation are among the most common side effects of this medicine. It can lower your blood cell counts, which increases the risk of infection and bleeding, so regular blood tests are required during treatment. Use effective contraception during treatment, as this medicine can harm an unborn baby. Inform your doctor immediately if you experience fever or chills, unusual bleeding or bruising, a seizure, yellowing of the skin or eyes, severe rash, or new or worsening cough or shortness of breath.
