Cimivir 400mg Tablet is an antiviral drug. It’s used alongside different medicines for the treatment of hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection. It works by blocking a protein (NS5B polymerase) that the hepatitis C virus needs to multiply, lowering the amount of virus in the body and helping clear the infection from the blood over the course of treatment.
Cimivir 400mg Tablet should be taken in the dose and duration as advised by your primary care doctor. Do not skip doses, and follow through with the full course of treatment regardless of whether you feel significantly better. It should be taken with food, ideally at a consistent time. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it’s nearly time for your next scheduled dose, do not double the dose.

This drug is usually taken in combination with other direct-acting antiviral medicines (per FAQ 3, not antiretrovirals, which treat HIV — see Section 3 below).
