Frequently Asked Questions

From sourcing to delivery, we ensure reliability at every step. Our operations follow strict quality and regulatory standards.

What is Tecfidera 240mg Capsule used for?
Tecfidera treats relapsing forms of multiple sclerosis (MS) in adults, including clinically isolated syndrome and relapsing-remitting disease. It reduces immune-driven nerve inflammation, helping lower relapse frequency and slow disease progression — though it doesn’t cure MS. The 240mg dose is the maintenance dose, typically reached after a 7-day starting dose of 120mg twice daily.
Swallow the capsule whole — never crush, chew, or sprinkle the contents on food. It can be taken with or without food, though taking it with food may reduce stomach upset. Take it consistently, twice daily, exactly as prescribed.
Tecfidera carries a risk of PML (progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy), a rare brain infection that usually causes death or severe, permanent disability. It’s linked to prolonged low lymphocyte counts, which is why regular blood tests are required — before starting, at 6 months, and every 6-12 months after. Report any new weakness on one side of the body, vision changes, confusion, or memory problems immediately, as these can be early PML symptoms.
It can cause anaphylaxis or angioedema (severe allergic reactions with swelling/difficulty breathing) — if this happens, stop the drug and seek immediate medical care; it should not be restarted. It can also increase risk of serious infections, including shingles (herpes zoster), and liver injury. Report fatigue, loss of appetite, right-upper abdominal pain, dark urine, or yellowing skin/eyes to your doctor promptly.
Blood tests to check lymphocyte counts (before starting, at 6 months, then every 6-12 months) and liver function tests as needed. Treatment may be paused if lymphocyte counts drop too low for too long, or if liver injury is suspected.
Flushing, abdominal pain, diarrhea, and nausea are most common, especially early in treatment, and often improve over time. These are separate from — and much less serious than — the rarer risks above, so don’t mistake managing flushing/GI symptoms for the full safety picture of this drug.
